    For a Perfect Fit:

    Meet the Model: Jamie
    - Jamie Bernadette

Jamie Bernadette is a model for Jeans.com. Learn how she got her start in the industry and what a denim model looks for in a pair of jeans.

Hello! I'm from a big midwestern family: 5 girls and 4 boys! I moved out here to L.A. from Illinois about 2 years ago and since then, I have been acting and modeling. The last film I did is about to begin circulating in film festivals. It is a short called, "The Indian Cafe." I have another film coming out any day now in video stores called, "Son of Sam" in which I played a supporting role. This summer I am filming as the lead in a feature length film distributed by Lion's Gate, which is a story focused around Henry Lee Lucas, the serial killer. I believe that while you're here, pursue your dreams because what's the point to life if you live it doing something you hate?

I've also been doing modeling, both runway and print. It's fun putting on a bunch of different clothes. It makes me feel like I am on a shopping spree! I like long jeans that sit on the hips and are fairly tight. And there is nothing cuter than a man in a nice pair of jeans!

I was fortunate enough to have Jeans.com give me a pair of jeans as a bonus for modeling for them (poor me, right?!). I picked out a pair of “Rock Revival” jeans and I’ll tell you, they are by far the BEST pair of jeans I have ever owned. I know what you’re thinking! I am not just saying that because I work for Jeans.com and we carry the Rock Revival line. They are seriously the best pair I have ever owned. They fit PERFECTLY and as I wear them throughout the day, they don’t end up stretched-out looking; they fit just as well as they did when I first put them on out of the dryer. Speaking of dryer, I did wash and dry them and they didn’t appear to shrink, which was good. I bet these jeans last me for a very very long time. The material just seems to be made really well. The ultimate test to find out whether they look good or not: my roommate, who is like my little brother and we fight like siblings, and when he saw them he said with an expressionless face, “Wow” and went about his own business. That REALLY means that they look nice. Thank you Jeans.com

How did you get into acting and modeling. I'm 16 and I've already modeled for a hair salon in Boston. i would love to move to L.A. to continue my career. Any advice?

Very well done on the modeling that you did for the hair salon! I always wanted to model and act and I started acting in plays and such in Illinois as a young girl. My advice to you is to come out to LA as soon as you get done with high school. Don't wait. Follow your dreams. Some people may tell you not to follow your dreams and tell you it is impossible. Don't listen to them. I would get a modeling agent in Boston now and start working with them. Build your modeling book (a book of 9 by 12 photographs), leather bound or that has a leather feel, by doing jobs and printing out a copy for your book. You do not need to pay for pictures and don't let anyone tell you that you must. Start by using the pictures from the hair salon shoot and put those in your book. Also, look for student photographers who need models and shoot with them. They will give you the pictures and you do not need to pay for it. Bring your book to LA with you and you will be ahead of the game. In the acting field, do plays around Boston, at your school, etc. Audition at colleges for student films and get the tape from them when it is completed. When you have a bunch of these, you will make a reel, which shows you playing different roles. You can have this done when you come to LA if you want, just bring all your tapes with you. Another thing, don't take rejection personally. Just keep going! I could go on and on! For now, I hope this helps. Always follow your heart. Good luck! Jamie Bernadette
